SanDisk proposes high-bandwidth flash memory for AI

In a publication dated October 12, 2025, SanDisk proposed High Bandwidth Flash, a NAND design aiming for far greater capacity than HBM with similar read bandwidth and price.

In a publication dated October 12, 2025, SanDisk introduced High Bandwidth Flash (HBF), a design based on NAND memory for AI inference workloads. According to the publication, the proposal aims to provide 8 to 16 times HBM's capacity, with similar read bandwidth and price.

The company expects the first samples in the second half of 2026. The proposal could broaden higher-capacity memory options for inference, but these figures are stated goals, not demonstrated results from an available product. Consult SanDisk's original publication and check future samples and measurements to verify the claims.
